This semester we were divided into discussion groups. I was put into a group with three other students, and throughout the classes and semesters we shared our thoughts and information on the topics with each other. I usually prefer to work alone, being the quiet student I am, working as a group is usually a difficult task for me. However, in history it was really nice to be put into a group because we were really able to share our ideas. There is so many different ways things can be interpreted and many different reasons behind the way things happened, and it was super neat to watch these ideas come forth during our group chats. Having a group in history also made it much easier to feel welcome in the class, being a first year student in a new city, it was really nice to know some of the students in the class, and to know that if you did not attend the class they would know. I was able to learn a lot about different perspectives in our group as we are all very different learners. I enjoyed getting to know my group and achieving learning milestones in history with them.
